In fact, understanding the transmission route of cockroaches is of great significance in prevention and control. There are two ways of spreading cockroaches: one is passive transmission; the other is active transmission.
(1), large-scale passive transmission. With the development of society, especially the increasing development of the transportation industry, cockroaches have also been brought to port cities in South America, Eastern Europe and South Asia from the African continent, where they originated, by shipping merchant ships and goods, and then gradually spread to temperate regions. , and even reached the cold regions of the north, it has spread all over the world and has become an important urban pest today. Also along with the development of economy in China, the development of logistics, transportation, and tourism spreads rapidly from south to north. So far, cockroaches are distributed and cause harm throughout the country. Because after cockroaches were introduced into China, due to the suitable environment and the absence of natural enemies, they often lived in restaurants, hotels, supermarkets, trains, automobiles, airplanes, schools, offices, hospitals and sewers, etc., almost everywhere. In other words: the so-called passive transmission means that human production and living activities have accelerated the spread of cockroaches around the world!
(2) Passive transmission in a small area. When cockroaches enter the cities we live in, they live in every corner. When we come into contact with these places when we work, live, or go out, we may carry adults and nymphs of cockroaches. , egg cases, etc., and bring them back to our living space, thereby accelerating the process of spreading cockroaches. In the process of passive transmission of cockroaches, there is an extremely important thing that must be mentioned, that is, the predatory exploitation of nature by human beings leads to the destruction of ecological balance, and makes cockroaches leave the original living environment that has lived for 350 million years , Enter our homes and become new urban pests.
This is one of the instincts of all living things, that is, when a biological population reaches a certain density, because of the limited living space, it will search for a new living space, so that the number of the population will continue to increase and the living range will continue to expand. This kind of transmission often takes a point as the center and spreads to the surroundings. For example, if there are cockroaches in a certain restaurant or family, after a period of time, cockroaches will appear around it, which is the result of active transmission.

3. 6. Strong adaptability and tenacious vitality. Cockroaches can survive under extremely harsh conditions, so they have become their paradise in cities. Moreover, its vitality is extremely tenacious. Cockroaches can withstand thirst and even hunger. They can go without water for a month, and they can go without food for three months (under the condition of water). Cockroaches can still live for a week without their heads. Headless cockroaches simply die of thirst because they have no mouth to drink from. Under harsh environmental conditions, when there is no food and no water, the phenomenon of cannibalism will occur among cockroaches, the big will eat the small, and the strong will eat the weak, especially the worms that have just molted their skins. They cannot move, and their skin is tender. The prey that competes for food survives by ingesting the water in the carcass.

Cockroaches have been shown to carry 40 species of bacteria that are pathogenic to vertebrates, such as Mycobacterium leprae that infects leprosy, Yersinia pestis that infects bubonic plague, Shigella dysenteriae that infects dysentery and Shigella parashigellae that infects children with diarrhea, Pseudomonas aeruginosa that causes urinary tract infection, Escherichia coli that causes urogenital tract and intestinal infection, and various Salmonella and hepatitis that spread intestinal diseases and gastritis, etc. In addition, cockroaches can still carry a variety of pathogenic bacteria that cause food poisoning. (4) Glue bait method: This is a newly emerging method of killing cockroaches in recent years. The main advantages are easy to use, safe and environmentally friendly. A good gel bait must meet three conditions: good fitness, strong lure and long-term moisture retention.
4. Biological cockroach control method: Because it is still impossible to use natural enemies to control cockroaches in the city, only biological agents can be used to control cockroaches.
